Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Walter Badenhausen dies at 96

Walter Badenhausen Jr., MD, a longtime orthopedic surgeon in Louisville, Ky., died Aug. 29 at age 96, according to an Aug. 29 report from CBS affiliate WLKY.

He was a co-founder of Ellis & Badenhausen Orthopaedics, which has provided orthopedic and sports medicine care for nearly 50 years.  

Dr. Badenhausen served as team doctor for Bellarmine University Athletics for more than two decades and was inducted into the school’s athletics hall of fame in 2011. 

In addition, he provided care to Louisville (Ky.) University Athletics, the report said.
