Orthopedic implant company secures FDA approval for knee implant trials

Fort Wayne, Ind.-based orthopedic implant company BioPoly has secured FDA approval for its new knee implant, according to an April 23 report from CBS affiliate WANE.

With the approval, the company can begin clinical trials for the device, which aims to address cartilage problems in patients with ongoing knee pain. 

BioPoly has started seeking patients for the study, which is open to around 152 patients.
