1. Since opening in October, the center has treated over 100 patients using cell therapy on chronically ill patients.
2. This therapy has recently emerged as a treatment alternative for patients with cardiac, autoimmune, orthopedic or neurological conditions.
3. Using a blend of adult stem and regenerative cells derived from a patient’s own fat tissue, stem cell therapy has the ability to decrease inflammation, repair damaged tissue, facilitate better cell-to-cell communication and stimulate new blood vessel growth.
4. Todd Malan, MD, serves as the chief cell therapy officer and general surgeon at the center.
“This Open House was a great event to showcase our facility,” said Okyanos Anesthesiologist Vincent Burton, MD, fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, UK. “We have a great team at Okyanos and are getting really good results with our patients. The sizable attendance from the Grand Bahama community was a demonstration of both their eagerness and support.”
