NIH renews $4M grant to URMC’s Center for Musculoskeletal Research: 4 points

University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medical Center’s Center for Musculoskeletal Research received renewal for a $4 million National Institutes of Health grant.

1. The grant has helped the center provide infrastructure and support to musculoskeletal researchers.

 

2. The grant’s renewal will allow the center to expand the Pilot Grant Program, which provides seed funding to pilot studies.

 

3. Edward Schwarz, PhD, URMC’s Richard and Margaret Burton Distinguished Professor in Orthopaedics, serves as center’s director.  

 

4. The center has grown from two tenure-track assistant professors to 16 professors.
