Jacksonville-based University of North Florida Athletics has partnered with Mayo Clinic to make the health system the department’s official healthcare provider.
The collaboration will expand medical care and health services for North Florida student-athletes, including weekly on-site clinics in athletic training facilities and medical coverage at home competitions, according to a May 11 news release.
Jacksonville, Fla.-based Mayo Clinic will provide sports medicine and orthopedic care for student-athletes through physicians including Kristina DeMatas, MD, head team physician, and Matthew Crowe, MD, who leads orthopedic care for the program.
North Florida student-athletes also will have access to Mayo Clinic’s network for advanced evaluations, diagnostics and procedures.
