Orthopedic device company Maxx Orthopedics has received FDA clearance for its Freedom Metaphyseal Cone System.

The system is used to address tibial bone defects, metaphyseal reconstruction, and other complex revision indications, according to a Nov. 15 news release from Maxx Orthopedics.

The Freedom’s cones have an elliptical design that scales larger in the medial-lateral direction than the anterior-posterior to optimize implant fit and load distribution.

The clearance expands the company’s knee portfolio, which also includes its Freedom PCK and Freedom Titan PCK Knee Systems, the release said.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
