1. The Virginia Mason physicians have been brought on to provide emergency medical care for orthopedic patients at KVH.
2. The rotating call schedule arranges for an orthopedic provider to be nearby and able to respond to the hospital if it is not possible for a specialty provider to be there at all times.
3. The Virginia Mason orthopedic physicians will have privileges to perform surgery at KVH Hospital, if needed.
4. In 2014, there were 15 emergency orthopedic surgeries at KVH Hospital.
5. The Virginia Mason providers will be integrated into the existing orthopedic call schedule later this month.
