Dr. Simon Mears named president of Geriatric Fracture Society — 5 highlights

Simon C. Mears, MD, has been elected president of the International Geriatric Fracture Society.

1. Dr. Mears is a hip and knee surgeon at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

 

2. He is also a professor in the department of orthopedics in the UAMS College of Medicine.

 

3. Dr. Mears will serve as president through 2017.

 

4. Previously, Dr. Mears practiced at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

 

5. Dr. Mears earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his fellowship in orthopedic traumatology at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the May Clinic.
