Hospital for Special Surgery names chief academic officer

New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery named James Schroeder, Jr., MD, as chief academic officer, effective Dec. 1.

Dr. Schroeder joins HSS from Northwestern University in Chicago where he was a professor in the departments of medical education and otolaryngology, according to a Nov. 10 news release.

At HSS, he will oversee graduate and continuing education programs, alumni relations, academic promotions and other scholarly activities.
