FDA OKs Hyalex Orthopaedics’ knee implant study

Hyalex Orthopaedics earned FDA investigational device exemption for its Freestyle knee implant, opening up the door for clinical trials.

The Freestyle implant for knee surgery is designed for patients with cartilage damage and early osteoarthritis of the femoral condyle, according to a May 20 news release. 

The upcoming study will take place at sites across the U.S. and Europe and will assess the safety and efficacy of the implant.
