Dr. Lori Karol named chief of pediatric orthopedic surgery at Colorado hospital

Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora has appointed Lori Karol, MD, orthopedics chair and Rose Brown Endowed Chair of Pediatric Orthopedics, according to an Aug. 6 news release.

Dr. Karol joins from Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, where she was assistant chief of staff and chief quality officer, as well as professor in the department of orthopedic surgery.

She has more than 30 years of experience in orthopedics and has done extensive research on scoliosis, clubfoot and cerebral palsy.

Dr. Karol has served as president of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and is in line to become the first female president of the Scoliosis Research Society.
