Keith Meister, MD, performed elbow surgery on Jesus Tinoco, a pitcher for the Miami Marlins, on Sept. 3.

The procedure was a right elbow UCL hybrid reconstruction with associated flexor tendon repair, according to a Sept. 7 news release from the Marlins.

Mr. Tinoco suffered a right forearm strain and was placed on the injured list in June.

The timeline for his recovery is 13 to 14 months, with an expected return to action in 2027, the release said.

Dr. Meister is the director at TMI Sports Medicine in Arlington, Texas, and is the head team physician for the Texas Rangers, another MLB team.
