The procedure was a right elbow UCL hybrid reconstruction with associated flexor tendon repair, according to a Sept. 7 news release from the Marlins.

The timeline for his recovery is 13 to 14 months, with an expected return to action in 2027, the release said.
Dr. Meister is the director at TMI Sports Medicine in Arlington, Texas, and is the head team physician for the Texas Rangers, another MLB team.
