Dr. James Andrews to receive Lord Wedgwood Award

Orthopedic surgeon James Andrews, MD, will receive the Lord Wedgwood Award at the 2015 Wedgwood Blue Dinner Party later this month, according to an Alabama.com report.

The event will include Fox Sports commentator Tim Brando as emcee and local celebrities like Taylor Hicks and Roger Clemens will be in attendance. Proceeds from the dinner party and subsequent celebrity golf tournament support the Lord Wedgwood Charity, which raises money to place AEDs in several states.

 

The charity also collaborates with the American Sports Medicine Institute, which Dr. Andrews has been involved in. Dr. Andrews founded the Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham and American Sports Medicine Institute. He also founded his current practice, the Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, Fla.
