Here are five things to know:
1. Dr. Widener has a special interest in general orthopedics, sports medicine, joint replacement and trauma and fracture care. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
2. Before joining Resurgens, Dr. Widener spent nine years in the Army and served as a team physician for the Delta Force at Fort Bragg.
3. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Widener is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Medical Association of Georgia.
4. Dr. Widener earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and completed his residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis, Wash.
5. Resurgens Orthopaedics includes 21 locations throughout Georgia.
