Dr. Dan Cooper, Dr. Kevin Kaplan operate on Jacksonville Jaguars rookie

Dan Cooper, MD, and Kevin Kaplan, MD, performed knee surgery on Travis Hunter, a wide receiver and defensive back for the Jacksonville Jaguars, in Dallas on Nov. 11. 

The surgery was to repair an isolated lateral collateral ligament in Mr. Hunter’s right knee, according to a Nov. 11 news release from the team. 

Mr. Hunter injured his knee during a practice on Oct. 30. He will miss the rest of the 2025 NFL season. 

He is expected to return to full football activities within six months, the release said. 

Dr. Cooper is a sports medicine surgeon specializing in knee and shoulder injuries. He currently serves as the head team physician for the Dallas Cowboys, another NFL team. 

Dr. Kaplan is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist and is the head team physician for the Jaguars.
