Dr. Charles Schen dies at 91

Retired orthopedic surgeon Charles Schen, MD, died April 16, The Buffalo News reports. He was 91.

Dr. Schen served in the Army and Army Air Force, attaining the rank of corporal. He received his medical degree from the College of Medicine at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, N.Y. He served as chief of orthopedics at the now-defunct Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Lackawanna, N.Y.

Dr. Schen served as interim chief of surgery at Buffalo (N.Y.) Veterans Affairs Medical Center in 1982. He practiced at Riverfront Medical in Tonawanda, N.Y., until his 1994 retirement.
