Dr. Anthony Marlon donates $2M to UNLV medical school: 6 notes

Anthony Marlon, MD, donated $2 million to the University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Medicine, according to Las Vegas Sun.

1. UNLV medical plans to build a new orthopedic surgery department.

 

2. The donation will help UNLV medical hire faculty members for the new department.

 

3. The medical school plans to open the orthopedic program in fall 2017.

 

4. Michael Daubs, MD, University of Nevada School of Medicine surgery chief, will be the new department’s chair.

 

5. The new orthopedic surgery department will include an orthopedic residency program.

 

6. Dr. Marlon is a member of the medical school’s community advisory board.
