Orthopedic innovator Corin has completed the first total hip arthroplasty cases using the ApolloHipX, a new application for the Apollo platform.
The device is the first total hip arthroplasty solution that combines dynamic, 3D preoperative planning with real-time intraoperative assessment from standard fluoroscopy, according to a June 5 news release.
This device allows surgeons to create a more personalized plan for patients. Stefan Kreuzer, MD, founder of ASC Inov8 Surgical at Memorial City in Houston, performed the first cases with ApolloHipX.
ApolloHipX integrates Corin’s preoperative planning solution with intraoperative fluoroscopy via proprietary, automated 2D–3D registration software.
