Catalyst’s stemmed arthroplasty system earns FDA clearance

Medical device company Catalyst received FDA clearance for its total shoulder arthroplasty system.

The system is the first to include an ellipsoid humeral head, which allows for more accurate restoration of natural joint kinematics, according to a Feb. 9 news release. 

Catalyst will have a limited release of the product in the second quarter of 2023 and a larger commercial release later in the year, the release said.
