Campbell Clinic orthopedics continues tradition of hosting international physicians: 4 notes

Memphis, Tenn.-based Campbell Clinic hosted two international orthopedic physicians as part of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons International Scholars Program and the Campbell Foundation’s Footprints in Motion Program, the Memphis Business Journal reports.

Here’s what you need to know.

 

1. Ara Aivazyan, MD, of Armenia, and Brian Billy Berto Madison, MD, of South Sudan, both were selected to be fellows.

 

2. Dr. Aivazyan was with the clinic from Oct. 3 to Oct. 7. In Armenia he is the head of pediatric orthopedics and traumatology at the Scientific Center of Traumatology and Orthopaedics.

 

3. Dr. Madison is in the midst of a six-week program.

 

4. Chief of Staff at the Campbell Clinic Fred Azar, MD, said the physicians at Campbell learn about the innovative ways the international physicians are treating their patients. “They may be doing some things that are really innovative because they have limited resources,” he said.
