Mr. Crosby initially injured his ankle during a game on Sept. 15, which caused him to miss the following game. He aggravated the injury on Dec. 8, leading to the surgery.

The procedure will force Mr. Crosby to miss the remainder of the NFL season.

During the initial surgery, physicians will determine if a second surgery is necessary based on the extent of damage to Mr. Crosby’s ankle.

Dr. Anderson is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine as well as foot and ankle surgery at OrthoCarolina. He also serves as associate team physician for the Green Bay Packers.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
