Henry Schein makes another push into orthopedics

Henry Schein is taking another step into orthopedics with a strategic relationship with Extremity Medical.

Through the collaboration, Extremity Medical will be able to expand its orthopedic implant systems, according to a Jan. 11 news release. 

“We are thrilled to work with Henry Schein in our journey to redefine extremity orthopedic care,” Matthew Lyons, CEO of Extremity Medical, said in the release. “Henry Schein’s global distribution, technology and team will enable us to enhance our product offerings and expand our reach, ultimately improving patient care and outcomes.”

In December Henry Schein acquired majority interest in TriMed, an orthopedic devicemaker focusing on upper and lower extremities.
