Henry Schein dips into orthopedic market

Henry Schein will acquire majority interest in TriMed, an orthopedic devicemaker focusing on upper and lower extremities, according to a Dec. 20 news release.

The move pushes Henry Schein, a dental medtech company, into the orthopedics space. The company also entered a strategic relationship with Extremity Medical.

Henry Schein’s transaction with TriMed is expected to close in the first quarter of 2024. Extremity Medical will operate as a separate standalone company under its partnership with the dental company.
