He will receive the award in February and is being recognized for his career in sports medicine. He founded Andrews Sports Medicine in Birmingham, Ala. and was chair of the board and medical director of the American Sports Medicine Institute in the same city.
Dr. Andrews has been an orthopedic surgeon for Auburn (Ala.) University, The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, and Tuskegee (Ala.) University. He also worked with the Washington Commanders, Tampa Rays, and the LPGA.
