Meet the leaders of five of thelargest orthopedic groups in the U.S.: 

Rothman Orthopaedics (Philadelphia): Alexander Vaccaro, MD, PhD, serves as Rothman's president. He took over the role in 2014. He is also the chair of the department of orthopedic surgery and professor of neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. 

The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics (Bethesda, Md.): Nicholas Grosso, MD, is the president of CAO and a practicing physician in Catonsville, Columbia and Eldersburg, Md., with more than 25 years of experience in the industry. He also serves as president of the Maryland Patient Care and Access Coalition, is a member of the Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Maryland Orthopaedic Society and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and former chief of orthopedics at Howard County General Hospital. 

Illinois Bone & Joint Institute (Des Plaines): Andre Blom is the CEO of Illinois Bone & Joint. He has been with the system since 2004, when he began as a physical therapist. 

OrthoLoneStar (Houston): Anthony Brooks, the CEO of Azalea Orthopedics, is chief operating officer of OrthoLoneStar as of April. He oversees executive management and daily operations of six OrthoLoneStar divisions, which include Azalea Orthopedics. 

Proliance Surgeons (Seattle): Troy Simonson is the CEO of Proliance and is focused on expanding the network of care centers and services. He has 20 years of experience in healthcare and a background in project management, clinic research and finance.
