Former Cleveland Browns orthopedic surgeon Dr. Malcolm Brahms dies at 103

Malcolm Brahms, MD, orthopedic practice founder, founding member of the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society, and former Cleveland Browns team surgeon, died on March 19 at the age of 103, according to a March 20 report from Cleveland Jewish News.

He served as team surgeon for the Browns, a National Football League team, from 1965 to 1980, operating on Hall of Fame football players including Milton Morin and Paul Warfield. 

Before joining the Browns, Dr. Brahms worked as an orthopedic surgeon at the now-closed Mount Sinai Hospital in Cleveland. 

Following his time with the Browns, Dr. Brahms founded Brahms, Cohn and Leb Orthopedics in Beachwood, Ohio, which is still in operation today. 

Dr. Brahms was also a founding member of the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle society and an expert witness for the U.S. government until he was 95.
