The Little Rock-based University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences received a $1 million gift from Brenda Gullett and Robert Gullett Jr., MD, to benefit the UAMS Health Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Hospital in Springdale, Ark.
The hospital’s sports medicine clinic will be named the Dr. Bob Gullett Clinic for Sports Medicine, according to an Aug. 20 news release.
Dr. Gullett is an associate professor and orthopedic surgeon at Fayetteville, Ark.-based UAMS Northwest Regional Campus. For over 30 years, he worked in private practice in orthopedic surgery in Pine Bluff, Ark. From 1978 to 2006, he also served as an adjunct faculty member for what is now the UAMS South Central Regional Campus in Pine Bluff.
The UAMS Health Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Hospital will open in 2027. The facility will be the home in Northwest Arkansas for UAMS Health orthopedic surgical care and will include exam rooms, operating rooms and inpatient beds.
