NuVasive's Precice limb lengthening system was approved for pediatric use by the FDA, the devicemaker said March 20.

The Precice nail has been used by more than 2,000 surgeons in nearly 50 countries, according to a news release. The FDA granted it 510(k) clearance.

"Precice has over a decade's worth of clinical data and has truly changed the standard of care for my patients," John Herzenberg, MD, said in the release. "This new indication is significant for my practice as the majority of my patients are under the age of 18."
