Kentucky hospital adds smart knee replacement

Jennie Stuart Health in Hopkinsville, Ky. began using Zimmer Biomet’s Persona IQ smart knee implant, WKDZ Radio reported Feb. 1.

The move comes a couple years after the hospital nboarded Zimmer Biomet’s Rosa robot for joint replacement, the report said. So far, two patients had surgery with the implant.

Persona IQ includes a gyroscope and an oscilloscope which measures patient movement and recovery after surgery. Earlier in 2023, Miami-based Mount Sinai Medical Center added the technology.
