Dr. Michael Archdeacon tapped to become UC Physicians CEO

Cincinnati-based UC Health named Michael Archdeacon, MD, the next CEO of its physician group, according to a Cincinnati Business Courier report.

Dr. Archdeacon is the chair of the department of orthopedic surgery at the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine, a position he will retain in addition to becoming CEO of UC Physicians. He joined the health system in 2001 and was vice chair of orthopedic surgery from 2006 to 2013.

He also spent time as chief of staff for the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and medical director of operative services at UC Health.

Dr. Archdeacon’s practice focuses on fracture care, specifically acetabulum and pelvis fractures. He has performed more than 1,600 pelvic and acetabular fracture surgeries.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Archdeacon is active in research and professional societies. He is the president-elect of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and president of the Ohio Orthopaedic Society.
