The New Jersey State Athletic Control Board recently appointed Michael Russonella, DO, as a boxing physician, Tap Into reports.
Three things to know:
1. Dr. Russonella is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in joint replacement, orthopedic trauma and sports medicine.
2. In 2009, he founded North Jersey Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Institute, which has offices in Nutley and Clifton.
3. Dr. Russonella completed a sports medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Ala.
