Mark Figgie, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery.
Dr. Figgie serves as chief of the surgical arthritis service at Hospital for Special Surgery, overseeing the care of rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, lyme disease and hemophilia patients. He performs more than 500 surgeries annually.
Dr. Figgie is also a professor of clinical orthopedic surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. His research interests include implant design, anatomic non-cemented total hip replacement, and total elbow replacement.
A graduate of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Dr. Figgie completed two fellowships — in biomechanics and comprehensive arthritis — at Hospital for Special Surgery. He also holds an MBA from New York City-based New York University.
