4 orthopedic centers earning advanced certifications

Here are four hospitals and health systems that have earned certifications for orthopedic and spine care since April 13:

1. Sanford Health Fargo (N.D.) has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of approval for total hip replacement, total knee replacement, total shoulder replacement and hip fractures. It first received the designation in 2013. 

2. Bossier City, La.-based WK Bossier Health Center has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of approval for advanced total hip and knee replacement certification. 

3. Riverside Doctors’ Hospital Williamsburg (Va.) received advanced hip and knee replacement certification from the DNV, a global certification, assurance and risk management provider.

4. Covington, La.-based Avala Hospital has become the second hospital in the nation to earn the Advanced Orthopedic and Spine Center of Excellence Designation from DNV.
