Orthopedic surgeon leader to know: Dr. Roger Ostrander of Andrews Institute

Roger V. Ostrander, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Gulf Breeze, Fla.-based Andrews Institute. His clinical interests include sports medicine, rotator cuff repair and minimally invasive shoulder, knee and elbow surgery.

He is a team physician for Pensacola-based University of West Florida athletic teams. Outside of his clinical practice, Dr. Ostrander’s research, which has been published in Orthopedics and Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery, focuses on rotator cuff repair and ankle surgery. He holds memberships with American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America and American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

 

Dr. Ostrander earned his medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine and performed residency training at University of California, San Diego. He went on to complete two fellowships: a sports medicine and arthroscopy fellowship at Birmingham, Ala.-based American Sports Medicine Institute and a musculoskeletal research fellowship at University of California, San Diego.
