Orthopedic surgeon leader to know: Dr. Randy Viola of The Steadman Clinic

Randy W. Viola, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at The Steadman Clinic, a practice with three locations in Colorado. He specializes in the treatment of hand, elbow and wrist conditions, with a special interest in orthopedic trauma.

He is the head team physician for the U.S. Men’s Alpine Ski Team and serves as an upper extremity consultant to the Denver Broncos, U.S. Ski Team and U.S. Snowboarding Team. Outside of his clinical practice, Dr. Viola pursues research related to distal radius fractures and disorders of the distal radioulnar joint. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.

 

He earned his medical degree at Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago, and went on to complete an orthopedic surgery residency at Seattle-based University of Washington. He performed two fellowships: a sports medicine fellowship at The Steadman Clinic and a hand and microsurgery fellowship at the Indianapolis-based Indiana Hand Center.
