2 California hospitals earn The Joint Commission’s hip, knee replacement certification

The Joint Commission bestowed its Advanced Certification for Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement Gold Seal of Approval on Santa Barbara (Calif.) Cottage Hospital and Goleta (Calif.) Valley Cottage Hospital, the Santa Barbara Independent reports.

The certification is valid for two years. It denotes that both facilities are working to improve quality, consistency and safety efforts around joint replacement care.

Both hospitals had to complete an on-site survey process, where Joint Commission reviewers analyzed several quality-based standards.
