$15K donation to North Dakota hospital adds 2nd orthopedic surgery bed

A $15,000 donation from ONEOK Community Investments helped CHI St. Alexius Health Williston Medical Center in Bismarck, N.D., acquire a second orthopedic surgery bed, Williston Herald reports.

Three things to know:

1. The hospital’s only orthopedic surgery bed is being used for all shoulder arthroscopies, hip fractures and replacements as well as most of its extremity orthopedic surgeries.

2. ONEOK contributed $15,000 of the $83,000 cost of a new bed to help accommodate more surgeries.

3. CHI St. Alexius Health is part of Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives, a nonprofit health system that operates in 18 states and includes 103 hospitals.
