1. Overall, young orthopedists earn $424,000.
2. Orthopedists are the second-highest earners among physicians under age 40, only behind plastic surgeons, who earn $519,000.
3. Over half — 67 percent — of young orthopedists are still paying off student loans.
4. Among the surveyed young physicians, 81 percent of orthopedists reported that they would choose medicine again.
5. All young orthopedists responded they would choose the same specialty again.
