Here are four things to know:
1. According to the Canadian Institute for Health Information, only 4.2 percent of surgical patients from Seven Oaks were readmitted, below the provincial average of 6 percent and the Canadian average of 6.9 percent.
2. The trauma orthopedic surgery program will be shut down later this year under Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister’s hospital consolidation program. The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is consolidating all surgical programs at four Winnipeg hospitals.
3. The details of where the orthopedic trauma surgery program will end up under the consolidation plan have yet to be finalized. The Seven Oaks trauma orthopedic surgeons and staff will be transferred to the new location.
