Here are the top six reasons physician practices have not purchased an electronic health record, according to the 2016 Technology Survey by Physicians Practice.

•    We don’t believe it would improve patient care — 40.9 percent
•    They are too expensive — 24.4 percent
•    We couldn’t find a product that met our needs — 9.9 percent
•    We’re planning on purchasing one in the next 12 months — 7.9 percent
•    We’re owned by a hospital or health system and we’re awaiting implementation of our parent’s EHR — 7 percent
•    We’ve heard too many horror stories — 6.6 percent
