Virginia hospital installs Mazor X: 3 notes

Salem, Va.-based LewisGale Medical Center adopted Medtronic’s Mazor X robotic system for spinal surgery, WFIR reports.

Here are three things to know:

1. There are only five Mazor X systems in Virginia.

2. LewisGale is the first Virginia hospital west of Richmond to install the system.

3. LewisGale Regional Health System is part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA.
