Vanderbilt University partnership to bring virtual reality to orthopedic residency program: 3 insights

The Nashville-based Vanderbilt University Medical Center orthopedic residency program partnered with Osso VR to use the virtual reality training platform in surgical education.

2. Osso VR is focused on eliminating training gaps for orthopedic and spine procedures.

3. Resident assessment is currently based on measures of knowledge through standardized testing, but trainees’ surgical skills are still predominantly assessed through subjective mentor observation. Osso VR provides another way to measure surgical skills.
