University Orthopedics opens new acute care clinic: 4 insights

Providence, R.I.-based University Orthopedics opened the OrthoDIRECT West clinic in West Warwick, R.I., The Kent County Daily Times reports.

Here are four things to know:

1. OrthoDIRECT is a University Orthopedics division that provides access to acute orthopedic care.

2. The new location offers same-day and next-day appointments for acute orthopedic issues.

3. OrthoDIRECT West is not designed to treat serious or chronic injuries.

4. University Orthopedics is a regional orthopedic referral center comprising more than 40 specialists. The specialists are orthopedic faculty members at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence.
