Top 6 hospitals physicians would pick for SCI treatment, from Medscape survey

Medscape surveyed 11,549 U.S. physicians on where they would choose to receive treatment for 10 conditions or procedures.

For non-cancer conditions, physicians felt the most important factor in choosing a hospital was its expertise, including physician credentials and published outcomes, followed by the hospital’s reputation among colleagues.

Here are the top six hospitals physicians would go for spinal cord injury treatment, according to Medscape’s 2018 Physician’s Choice survey:

1. Mayo Clinic Hospital, Methodist Campus in Rochester, Minn.

2. Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston

3. The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore

4. Cleveland Clinic

5. Tied: Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City

6. Ronald Reagan UC Los Angeles Medical Center
