St. Luke’s Interventional Pain Management names Dr. Kathryn Thompson medical director: 4 key notes

Kathryn Thompson, MD, was named medical director of the St. Luke’s Interventional Pain Management clinic, according to a Duluth News Tribune report.

Here are five things to know about Dr. Thompson:

 

1. She joined St. Luke’s Anesthesia Associates in September 2015.

 

2. The new interventional pain management clinic was opened in March. Dr. Thompson and her colleagues are working toward coordinating strategies for pain relief, preventing prolonged disability and enhancing quality of life.

 

3. Dr. Thompson earned her medical degree at Mayo Clinic Medical School in Rochester, Minn., where she also completed her residency in anesthesiology.

 

4. Her additional training includes a fellowship in pain medicine at Mayo.
