Orthopedic Residents Want More Business Training

In a recent study of Chicago-area orthopedic residents, researchers found that residents were interested in business education in addition to their medical training, according to an AAOS Now report.

The survey was sent to 151 residents and received a 30 percent response rate. Of the respondents, 91 percent believed that business knowledge was important for orthopedists and 95 percent were interested in learning business concepts.

Nearly 58 percent of respondents said they would be likely to glean business knowledge from an online resource and nearly 98 percent said they would be likely to attend in-house lectures.
