Here are five points:
1. The newly merged practice will be called Carolina Orthopaedic & Neurological Associates.
2. Plans for the merger include building a $7.2 million facility in Spartanburg that will include an ambulatory surgery center.
3. The 15,280-square-foot facility will create 25 new jobs.
4. Carolina Orthopaedic & Neurological Associates will include eight orthopedic surgeons, three neurosurgeons, three pain management physicians and 12 physician assistants/nurse practitioners.
5. Construction is slated to start in spring 2017. The facility is expected to be completed by spring 2018.
