Here’s what you need to know:
1. The LES Society was founded to advance LES, a spinal procedure that is less invasive than minimally invasive surgery. The society provides clinical, research and educational experiences for fellows, residents and young surgeons.
2. The society plans to train residents, fellows and established surgeons. The society will recruit tenured surgeons and senior faculty to assist residents and fellows with board review, career education and business development. It will also select LES surgeons to participate in bioskills training labs.
3. The society will continue to develop technology, which will be exclusively introduced to members of the LES Society. At this meeting, the LES Society introduced the LES SacroFuse posterior technique.
4. The society asked the attendees to collect data and case studies related to LES.
5. The society will host local events throughout the country, including bioskills labs, business symposiums and journal clubs.
