Here are four things to know:
1. Through the partnership, Carrum’s covered workers will have access to bundled payment services at Hoag Orthopedic Institute Surgery Center and Saint John’s Health Center. The company has a previous relationship with Providence St. Joseph through the Center of Excellence Swedish Medical Center.
2. Carrum Health will provide bundled payment options for 80 outpatient procedures at Hoag Orthopedic Institute. Currently, around three-quarters of California’s population lives within 150 miles of a Carrum Center of Excellence.
3. Through Carrum, self-insured employers and employees gain access to quality healthcare at a lower cost through the bundles. The company, which was founded in 2014, directs members to affiliated centers of excellence.
4. In addition to Hoag and St. John’s, Carrum has relationships with San Diego-based Scripps Health, Stanford (Calif.) Health Care and Swedish Medical Center in Seattle.
