Here are six key notes:
1. The healthcare sector added 43,000 jobs in July, outpacing other sectors in job creation.
2. The ambulatory services sector gained 19,000 jobs while hospitals gained 17,000 jobs.
3. July continued an upward trend in job growth for the healthcare sector; in June there were 39,000 jobs added in healthcare. Over the past year, healthcare has added more than 477,000 jobs.
4. Healthcare employment is expected to increase 19 percent by 2024, a much faster growth than other industries.
5. Healthcare is on track to becomes the biggest sector in fewer than three years.
6. Among healthcare positions, only the medical and diagnostic laboratories and residential mental health facilities saw a decrease in employment over the last month — 300 and 200 jobs respectively.
